So far, in addition to filling it up with eight people, it has hauled a walk behind lawnmower, a dump trailer for a tractor mower, lots of mulch, and now a grill. Not all at once of course.

That is limited. Specifically your top speed is now limited to about 45.

Actually, I maintained speeds around 67 mph on the hour drive home. The pickup is a lot of things, but slow isn’t one of them. I leave that honor to the Tercel, which can barely break 70 empty.
